Submissions Guidelines

ArtBox Gallery offers a new perspective in an area with a long history and tradition of artists. Drawn to the area’s natural beauty, artists found inspiration, seclusion and community on Lookout Mountain. This tradition continues today. ArtBox Gallery offers representation to artists who are inspired by nature, science and spirit to create works that speak to the heart.

Artists working in the Fine Arts and Craft disciplines of paint, clay, fiber, metal, glass, wood, as well as mixed media, video and photography are invited to submit under the following guidelines:

Geographic Restrictions:

We cannot accept submissions from artists who display and/or sell their works within a 14 mile radius of the ArtBox. Local artists who have advertised, public studios within this area and who sell directly to the public are encouraged to provide ArtBox with brochures or other information to be shared with gallery visitors.

Portfolio Submission Criteria:

• Digital images of work, labeled with name, title, dimensions and media.
• A résumé and/or biography.
• An artist statement and a description of the work and process.
• Price list.
• Submissions can be made electronically or on CD/DVD.

Standards:

• Original work with a sense of inventiveness. Works can be one of a kind or limited              production. Functional crafts and fine arts are accepted.
• Consistent work with a high degree of professional finish.
• Artist must demonstrate a masterful handling of techniques and an understanding of materials.
• Works should convey personal and individual expression.
• Work should fit our gallery philosophy and the quality standard of existing work we exhibit.
• Artists will be treated in a professional manner and should reciprocate accordingly.

All submissions will be juried for consideration.
